A female Civil Defence employee deployed as a Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) bus marshal has accused a male Civil Defence employee in Northeast Delhi of raping her.

A case under relevant sections has been registered at Khajuri Khas Police Station on the statement of the victim and after initial investigation the accused has been arrested.

A senior police official said a complaint was received at Khajuri Khas Police Station, wherein the woman complainant, a native of Ghonda, Delhi stated that she is serving in Civil Defence and has been deployed as marshal in DTC buses.

The complainant revealed, in her complaint, that while performing duties as bus marshal, she came in touch with a person who was also serving as DTC Bus marshal (Civil Defence). In a little span of time, they became good friends.

According to her, one day the man invited her to a birthday party at Shriram Colony located in Khajuri Khas and forcefully made physical relations with her in an inebriated state.

On receipt of the complaint of the victim, her counseling was conducted and her medical was done. Further, a case was registered on her statement and investigation was taken up.

During the investigation, it came to fore that both the victim and the accused were well-known to each other and both are Civil Defense employees working in DTC Buses. Based on the initial inquiry, the accused person has been arrested and sent to judicial custody.

Further legal action is being taken in the matter.
