Massing of education
While the terms ‘mass or universal elementary education’ and ‘higher education’ have been in global vogue for about the preceding three centuries, ‘mass higher education’ is new and certainly a postWWII idea.
The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has released the examination schedule for the 2018 Class X and Class XII examinations on their official website www.cisce.org.

The ICSE or Class X examinations will begin on 26 February and end on 28 March and the ISC or Class XII examination will commence on 7 February and end on 2 April.

The CISCE has changed the passing marks for both ISC and ICSE students. The pass marks for ICSE has been updated from 35 per cent to 33 per cent and from 40 per cent to 35 per cent for the ISC .
The council has also informed that the dates of the examinations may change based on the declaration of election dates by the Chief Election Commissioner of India for the states due for Assembly elections.
The board will give 15 minutes prior time to candidates to read the question paper. The question paper may be distributed to candidates at 10:45 am to enable them to start writing at 11 am, according to media reports.
