The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday took a jibe at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Congress after the two INDIA alliance partners announced their seat-sharing alliance and reminded Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of his promise of putting the leaders of the grand old party in jail.

“You must have heard ‘chor chor mausere bhai’. That is what is happening between AAP and Congress. AAP workers are disappointed because Arvind Kejriwal used to speak about putting Congress leaders in jail but he is now at their feet,” said BJP leader Manoj Tiwari.

Tiwari further said that Congress workers are also disappointed after the latter decided to form an alliance with the Aam Aadmi Party.

“Congress workers are disappointed too. Arvind Kejriwal and AAP had ousted Congress from their 15 years of rule and now Kejriwal is sharing the stage with Rahul Gandhi…BJP and Narendra Modi are in everyone’s hearts…People of Delhi will decide everything because today it is clear that the top leaders of AAP and Congress are one and the same,” Manoj Tiwari added.

As per the seat sharing pact, AAP will contest seven of the four Lok Sabha constituencies, while three seats have been given to the Congress party.

“Congress will contest on North East, Chandni Chowk and North West seats. AAP will contest in New Delhi, West Delhi, South Delhi and East Delhi. As a part of the INDIA Alliance, we had said earlier too that we will follow the order of high command…We will have a positive result in the time to come,” Congress leader Arvinder Singh Lovely said.

Meanwhile, Delhi minister and AAP leader Atishi has claimed that Arvind Kejriwal can be arrested soon after the party announced its alliance with the Congress in Delhi, Chandigarh, Gujarat, Goa and Haryana.

“Ever since the INDIA alliance seat sharing was nearly finalised, Arvind Kejriwal started getting threats from all sides. We were told, if we don’t exit the alliance, after ED, CBI will also frame charges against Arvind Kejriwal to arrest him. We have information that the CBI will issue a notice on Monday, and probably in some days, Arvind Kejriwal will be arrested,” she claimed.
