Expressing faith in divine justice,he emphasized that Lord Ayyappa would not spare the culprits. “Lord Ayyappa will not spare the culprits who plundered gold in the hill shrine,” Kurian said
Stating that there is nothing surprising in what happened in Sabarimala, the union minister said all those arrested are members of the CPM and atheists. “All those who were arrested in the Sabarimala gold heist case, were seen leaving with a smile on their faces. They believe that they have done their ideological duty,”he said.
He said it was a part CPM’s Adavu Nayam(tactical policy ) that K Jayakumar has been made the Travancore Devaswom(TDB) President
“Jayakumar narrowly escaped now because he is a devotee of Ayyappa,” Kurian said
The special investigation team (SIT) probing the gold heist at the Sabarimala Ayyappa temple, on Thursday arrested former Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) president and CPM leader A Padmakumar. Earlier on Ovember 12 , former Devaswom Commissioner and TDB President , N Vasu was arrested by the Special Investigation Team (SIT). Vasu, who was close to CPM leadership, including Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan was arrested by the SIT for his alleged involvement in the disappearance of the gold from the Sanctum Sanctorum of door frames of the Sabarimala temple in 2019
The arrests of Padmakumar and N Vasu are major developments in the high-profile case involving the alleged theft of gold used for plating the temple’s sanctum Sanctorum doors (sreekovil) and the ‘dwarapalaka’ idols at Sabarimala temple in 2019.These two arrests have significant political implications in Kerala. Padmakumar’s and Vasu’s connection to the ruling CPM have put the left party in a difficult position.
