A 55-year-old Pakistani national, who crossed the International Boundary inadvertently, was handed over to the Pakistan Rangers by the BSF, officials said on Wednesday.
A BSF spokesman said that the troops of Border Out Post Kassowal yesterday arrested Nishar Ahmad Ansari of Nainkot in Pakistan after he crossed the International Boundary inadvertently.

The Pakistan Rangers were contacted and the Pakistani national was handed over to them last evening on humanitarian grounds, the spokesman said.

Border fencing work has started in Bengal’s Phansidewa area after the state government transferred 27 kilometres of land to the BSF for security infrastructure.
District administrations across border areas have started coordination meetings with the Border Security Force (BSF) and land acquisition authorities to expedite the process of acquiring land for border fencing, in line with directions issued by Chief Minister.
