19 lives lost in north India due to heavy rainfall, life comes to standstill
Devastating heavy rainfall wreaks havoc in North India, claiming lives and causing widespread chaos and disruption.
A day after dust-laden storm rocked the national capital Delhi, the Indian Meteorological Department on Saturday issued a severe weather warning for the upcoming five days.
According to the press released published on the official website of the Met department, places in North India like Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi are likely to experience thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds on 9 and 10 April.
Similar warnings have been issued for other parts of the country as well.

On 7 April, thunderstorm accompanied with squall and hail are likely at isolated places over Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, Bihar, Assam & Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura. On the same day, East Uttar Pradesh and some parts of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka along with north Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh and SubHimalayan West Bengal and Sikkim are likely to experience thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds.
The warning has been issued for five day with 11 April being the last day. On 11 April, thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds are likely at isolated places over SubHimalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Assam and Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.
