The BJP, however, maintains an advantage in Udalguri’s 39-Pachnai Cherpang seat with 5,168 votes, while BPF trails at 1,582. In 36-Harishinga, BPF remains ahead with 3,407 votes against UPPL’s 2,008. Similarly, in 38-Bhairavkunda, BPF is leading with 2,041 votes, followed by BJP with 805 and UPPL with 777. The 32-Vergaon constituency has UPPL in front with 2,147 votes over BJP’s 940, while in 40-Rauta, BPF again holds the lead with 4,816 votes against UPPL’s 3,471.

Although BJP, UPPL, and BPF are part of the NDA at the national level, they are contesting against each other in this election, making post-poll alliances crucial for government formation.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma acknowledged that the sudden demise of cultural icon Zubeen Garg had dampened BJP’s campaign momentum in the final days, impacting voter engagement.

Security has been tightened across the Bodoland Territorial Region as counting continues. With the final outcome expected by late night, all eyes are now on possible coalition alignments—whether BPF aligns with UPPL or BJP, or if UPPL and BJP strike a deal to keep power.
