Samajwadi Party National President Akhilesh Yadav, reiterating his demand to extend the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) by three months, alleged that the BLOs are not properly trained which would only lead to rejection of a majority of voters in the voters list.
“BLOs have not been properly trained for SIR. The Election Commission is claiming that all forms have been distributed, but in reality half the voters have not received them,” he said.

In a statement issued here on Sunday, Akhilesh Yadav accused the BJP government of conspiring against the public through this SIR.
“The Commission is conducting the SIR without any preparation. Samajwadi Party leaders and workers are assisting people with caution and vigilance during the SIR to ensure that all voters are registered,” he said while alleging that if the work is not done as per the procedures established by the Election Commission, the forms will be rejected and the votes will be cancelled.
The SP president said hat Uttar Pradesh is a very large state where crores of voters have to cast their votes.
“There are weddings and other ceremonies going on, so the Election Commission should extend the SIR process by three months, giving people a chance. BLOs and party BLEs should also be properly trained so that all voters can enroll their votes,” he said .
Meanwhile, SP’s UP President Shyam Lal Pal submitted a memorandum to the state Chief Electoral Officer for conducting SIR in a transparent manner at 1,62,486 polling stations in 403 assembly constituencies of the state.
“The BLOs should provide complete information about the 2003 voter list to the voters, and explain the method of filling the counting form. The 2003 voter list should be uploaded online at all polling stations. The BLOs should go from door to door to ensure that the distribution and collection of counting forms in two copies to the voters and action should be taken against the BLOs who ask for documents along with the counting form from the voters,” the memorandum demands.
Pal said in various assembly constituencies of Ghaziabad district, most of the BLOs are asking the voters to provide documents along with the counting form and most of the BLOs are not doing so.
“No information is being given to the voters about the 2003 voter list and are being pressurized to fill in the details of the 2025 voter list and not to fill in any details of the 2003 voter list. BLOs are not going from door to door to distribute and collect the counting forms. Most of the BLOs do not have the 2003 voter list. In Ghaziabad’s Vidhansabha constituency, polling station number 280 does not have the 2003 voter list uploaded. In Sahibabad Vidhansabha constituency, polling station number 126, 517, 408, 413, 414, 527, 79, 1130, 428, 210, BLOs are not distributing the counting forms to the voters.
According to the memorandum, the 2003 voter list is not uploaded at many polling stations, including polling stations 219, 250, 273, 322, 352, and 360, in the 314-Dhanghata Assembly constituency of Sant Kabir Nagar district. Consequently, voters are not filling in the 2003 voter list details in the enumeration form. Such voters will receive a notice after the publication of the draft voter list on December 9 causing unnecessary inconvenience. Voters are not being informed by the BLO about how to fill in the enumeration form, causing confusion.
According to the memorandum, 620 voters are missing from the 2003 voter list at polling station number 9 in the 144-Mohammadi Assembly constituency of Lakhimpur Kheri district. Serial number 1499 is recorded directly after serial number 879 in the voter list. Around 620 voters have gone missing in the intervening period, due to which the voters are not able to fill the details of 2003 in the enumeration form. Such voters will be issued a notice by the ERO to submit the documents after 09 December 2025, which will cause unnecessary inconvenience to the voters, it further alleges.
