Nadda accuses BJD of importing outsider for Odisha’s leadership

A clash between BJP and Youth Congress workers erupted at Thekkinkadu Maidan in Trissur on Thursday after the latter attempted to sprinkle cow dung water at the venue where Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a huge gathering on Wednesday.
The BJP workers stopped the Youth Congress workers who came to ‘clean’ the venue of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address to the BJP’s women’s rally a day before by sprinkling cow dung water. The situation turned worse when the BJP activists started attacking Congressmen with poles that were used to erect the stage.
BJP’s Thrissur district president KK Aneesh alleged that TN Prathapan, the Congress MP from Thrissur constituency and police officials conspired to let the protest happen. “We won’t let anyone trespass into our venue. We obtained permission to conduct the programme here. If any Youth Congress worker dared to sprinkle cow dung water on BJP’s venue, Prathapan would face its consequences. We will spray cow dung water all over,” Aneesh said.

As the clashes continued, the BJP workers pelted stones at the Youth Congress activists when they tried to spray cow dung water at the venue of the PM’s programme.
The police had to use force to disperse the two groups and restore order in the area. As tensions escalated, the police arrested the protesting Youth Congress workers to bring the situation under control.
Congress sources said the protest was in response to the cutting of branches of the banyan tree near the venue, undertaken as part of security measures for Modi’s programme here on Wednesday.
BJP’s state president K Surendran said the attempt of the Youth Congress workers to sprinkle cow dung water at the venue where Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a huge gathering on Wednesday shows the party’s elitist mindset.
“Since PM Modi is from a socially and economically backward family, the Congress must have thought about how could he be allowed to step foot on the premises of Sree Vadakkumnathan Temple,” Surendran said.
