BJP must secure over 370 seats in LS polls, win everyone’s trust in next 100 days: Modi at party convention

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday asked all BJP workers, members and leaders to reach out to every new voter and win everyone’s trust in next 100 days, adding that the party must win over 370 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections so that the NDA crosses 400 mark.

In his valedictory address to party cadres and leaders on the concluding day of the BJP’s two-day National Convention at Bharat Mandapam here, Modi said, “Over the next 100 days, our goal is to unite and engage with every new voter, every beneficiary, every sector, and every community. It is essential to earn the trust of the people, and with collective efforts, the BJP will have the opportunity to serve the nation with the highest mandate ever.”

In his address, the Prime Minister said a BJP ‘Karyakarta’, committed to serving the nation, dedicates every hour throughout the year to this cause. “As we approach the next 100 days, it is imperative that we work with renewed energy, enthusiasm, and faith,” he said.

Today is 18th February and the youth who have turned 18 during this period are going to elect the 18th Lok Sabha of the country, the Prime Minister said. “We all have to work together for the next 100 days. Every new voter, every beneficiary, every class, society, creed, tradition has to be reached,” Modi stressed.

The Prime Minister said now was the time to realise the dream and vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (developed India).

“The country’s dreams and resolve have gotten bigger. Our dream and resolution today is to make a Viksit Bharat and the next five years will be crucial to taking our country there. Over the next five years, we have to take a giant leap towards a Viksit Bharat,” he said.

Without naming anyone, the Prime Minister took a dig at the Opposition, saying, “Today, even some leaders in the Opposition are chanting ‘NDA sarkar 400 paar’. However, to take the NDA past 400 seats in the Lok Sabha elections, the BJP must secure over 370 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.”

Modi further said the next five years are going to play a crucial role in realising “our dream of a developed India”. India must work tirelessly to take a giant leap towards becoming a developed nation, he said.

“I am not someone who lives for my own happiness. I am advocating for a third term for BJP not for political gains, but for the benefit of India. My efforts are dedicated to the people of India. The dreams of Indians are my commitments,” the Prime Minister said.

Modi said the past 10 years have been characterised by bold decisions and futuristic policies.

“We have dared to complete tasks that had been left unfinished for decades. Whether it was the construction of the Ram Mandir, the opening of the Kartarpur corridor, the abrogation of Article 370, or the implementation of the New Education Policy, these changes were long-awaited by the people of India,” he said.

Nations shape their futures by embracing their history and culture, the Prime Minister said.

Hitting out at the Opposition, Modi said, “Opposition parties may not know how to fulfill their promises, but they still don’t hesitate to make false commitments. Despite this, they lack the courage to make one promise… no opposition party will promise you a ‘Viksit Bharat’. Nor do they question us about it. These parties have acknowledged that they cannot lead India to development.”

BJP is the only party, and NDA is the only alliance that aspires to make India developed by 2047, he said.

The Prime Minister said it took India 60 years to reach a USD 1 trillion economy milestone. “In our 10 years, we have propelled it to a USD 3 trillion economy. The previous government failed to elevate India from the 11th to the 10th largest global economy. In contrast, the BJP has elevated India to the top 5. Today, India stands as the 5th largest economy, and our infrastructure budget has surpassed Rs 11 lakh crore,” Modi said.

The Prime Minister also paid glowing tributes to Jain seer Acharya Shri 108 Vidhyasagar Ji Maharaj.

In his tribute to Acharya Shri 108 Vidhyasagar Ji Maharaj, PM Modi said his demise has come as a ‘personal loss’ as he used to seek guidance from him.

“Today, I wish to take this opportunity to pay tribute to Acharya Shri 108 Vidhyasagar Ji Maharaj. I was deeply saddened, and, so were his followers, after receiving the news of his demise. For me, this is a personal loss. I had the privilege and good fortune of meeting him and seeking his advice and guidance from time to time. The last time I visited him, the thought of not seeing him again never crossed my mind,” PM Modi said.
