Himachal Pradesh BJP on Monday headed by State President Suresh Kashyap and Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur submitted a memorandum to the Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla demanding action against the state government for closing more than 900 institutions in the state.

They also handed over lakhs of signatures against the Congress government to the governor.

Blaming the Congress government for closing more than 900 government institutions, BJP said that there was a lot of anger in the public, which is evident through these lakhs of signatures.

In the memorandum, the party charged the state government with closing the institutions in a spirit of political vendetta and it reflects the narrow mindset of the Congress party.

Due to this dictatorial working style of the present government, the people of the state are facing huge inconveniences, they alleged.

The state had been known for clean politics, good governance and a healthy democratic system which works in continuity in the interest of the state and the public by taking forward the works of the previous government, however it is unfortunate that the incumbent state government has closed down institutions of various departments which were opened after cabinet approval and with budgetary provisions, they charged.

They further maintained that Himachal Pradesh was a hill state and keeping in mind the difficult geographical conditions and the huge demand to facilitate the public, the former BJP government had opened these institutions, and the work in these institutions had started running smoothly facilitating the public.

The Congress soon after assuming power has snatched away the facilities being provided to the people, they added.

Blaming Congress for not taking any single decision in the public interest, BJP has questioned the functioning of the state government.

Such decisions are not only anti-people but also reflect the dictatorial attitude of the Congress party which cannot be tolerated at all, said BJP.

BJP had launched a signature campaign against the state government for closing down the institutions.

The opposition party has sought Governor’s intervention to immediately withdraw the decision taken by the state government in the public interest so that uninterrupted development continues in the state and healthy democracy continues.
