BJP has accepted the resignation of its Goshamahal MLA, T Raja Singh, while dismissing his arguments against the appointment of the current state president, N Ramachander Rao, as irrelevant. BJP’s national general secretary, Arun Singh, wrote to the dissident MLA informing him about the decision of the party to accept his resignation with immediate effect.
Raja Singh, a staunch Hindutva leader, had quit on 30 June after some of his men who had gone to the party office to submit his nomination for the post of Telangana BJP president were allegedly barred.

Informing the acceptance of his resignation letter, BJP’s national general secretary Arun Singh sent out a strong message to the three-time MLA that his antics were not acceptable to the national leadership of the Saffron party. Raja Singh had addressed his resignation letter to the previous BJP state president and Union minister G Kishan Reddy. “The aforesaid letter has been brought to the notice of Hon’ble National President Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda ji. The contents mentioned by you are irrelevant and do not match the functioning, ideology, and principles of the party,” said the letter.
Raja Singh had blamed the state-level leadership of the BJP for failing to bring the party to power, projecting himself as a leader in touch with the grassroots workers of the party. After his resignation was accepted, he iterated his argument in a post on a social media platform where he said, “Perhaps I could not convey to Delhi the pain of millions of BJP workers who are working day and night with the dream of forming a BJP government in Telangana. I want to make it clear that I have not taken this decision for any position, power, or personal gain.” The MLA iterated that he would continue to work for Hindutva.
Three years back, Raja Singh was suspended by the BJP after he uploaded a video where he made derogatory comments against the Prophet. However, the suspension was withdrawn just before the elections, allowing him to contest Goshamahal for the third time and win.
