The ruling NDA, as well as the Opposition RJD and Jan Suraaj Party, have welcomed the Election Commission’s decision to conduct the forthcoming Bihar Assembly elections in two phases. Leaders from all sides expressed confidence in forming the next government with a decisive majority.

Reacting to the announcement, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary urged voters to support the NDA once again, citing historic progress in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and employment under the current government.

“Now is the time to use your vote wisely and choose your future by recognising the hard work and development efforts of the NDA. Together, we can realise the dream of a ‘Developed Bihar’,” he said.

Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly Tejashwi Yadav wrote an open letter to the people of Bihar, calling on them to fully commit themselves to bringing the INDIA Alliance to power.

“November 14, 2025, will be remembered in golden letters as the beginning of Bihar’s golden future — a time of transformation, progress, and prosperity,” he wrote.

He added, “After 20 long years, Bihar is ready for change. What the NDA couldn’t do in 17 years, we achieved in 17 months. What they failed to do in 20 years, we will accomplish in just 20 months. With people’s support, we will build a better, more developed Bihar.”

Bihar Congress President Rajesh Ram said, “The end of the BJP–JDU’s misrule has begun. For the past 20 years, Bihar has borne the burden of darkness, fear, and corruption. Now the people are ready to give their verdict against it. This will mark the beginning of accountability and the end of the corruption and scams that have broken Bihar’s backbone.”

BJP Bihar State President Dr. Dilip Jaiswal said the people of Bihar have consistently placed their trust in the NDA, and this time that trust will be even stronger.

“The NDA has pulled Bihar out of the darkness of ‘jungle raj’ and into the light of development. From roads and electricity to healthcare, education, and industry — we’ve set new benchmarks. The people’s verdict will be a decisive step towards development, good governance, and a self-reliant Bihar,” he said.

JD(U) State President Umesh Singh Kushwaha said the NDA is fully prepared for the elections at every level. He said booth-level workers have been organised through district and assembly-level conferences, which has already weakened the morale of the opposition.

Highlighting Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s two-decade leadership, Kushwaha said, “In the past 20 years, Nitish Kumar has transformed Bihar, delivering development across all sections of society and establishing the rule of law to ensure a fear-free environment. That’s why public sentiment is clearly in favour of the NDA.”

Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor welcomed the two-phase poll decision and claimed it reflects the BJP’s realisation that repeated visits by Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not be enough to secure votes.

“The upcoming elections will be a triangular contest between the NDA, the INDIA Alliance, and the Jan Suraaj Party. The people of Bihar have already made up their minds to change the current regime. Now, they are left with two choices — bring back the RJD’s ‘jungle raj’ or vote for Jan Suraaj for a brighter future,” he said.
