Bihar Pradesh Congress president Rajesh Ram on Tuesday said a large number of Congress workers from every district of the state will participate in the party’s “Vote Chor Gaddi Chhod” (vote thief, vacate your seat of power) rally at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan on December 14.

The rally is being organised to highlight concerns related to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls across the country.

Observers appointed by the state Congress to ensure maximum participation submitted their reports to Rajesh Ram during a meeting held at the Bihar Congress Headquarters, Sadaqat Ashram, on Tuesday.

All district observers present at the meeting reiterated their commitment to making the rally a success, stating that Congress leaders and workers from across Bihar will reach Delhi in large numbers.

Addressing the meeting, Rajesh Ram alleged that the BJP, after forming governments through “vote theft” in Bihar and other states, is attempting to replicate the strategy elsewhere as well. He claimed that people are being harassed under the SIR process and that the central government is trying to manipulate their votes.

He said, “The Election Commission’s silence and its disregard for public concerns are extremely unfortunate. The grand rally on 14 December will forcefully convey the voices of victims and worried citizens from across the country to the Central Government. The biased and arbitrary processes being carried out by the Election Commission will be highlighted at the national level.”
