Bombay Sappers Motorcycle Expedition undertaken on completion of 200 years of Bombay Sappers reached Ahmedabad on 16 August 2019. The expedition was Flagged Off on 26 July 2019 from Dras on ‘Kargil Vijay Diwas’.

On 17 Aug 2019, the expedition was flagged off for Pune by Brigadier AK Singh SM of Golden Katar Division, Ahmedabad.  It will culminate at Pune on 21 August 2019 covering a total distance of 3800 km from Dras to Pune.

A little bit of background about the Bombay Sappers. The Squad is officially known as the Bombay Engineer Group and are headquartered in Pune, Maharashtra. The Bombay Sappers have been conferred with a large variety of honours, such as the Victoria Cross, Param Vir Chakra, Ashok Chakra and French Legion of Honour.

The expedition team comprising of 13 members and 8 motorbikes visited various Field units of Bombay Sappers enroute meeting Veterans and Veer Naris in Outreach Programme organized at various states.
