Finance Minister Arun Jaitley congratulated the people of Tripura, Meghalaya and Nagaland – the three states where BJP performed triumphantly at the assembly polls.

Hailing the victories, Jaitley extended his congratulations to all the BJP workers in each of the states for their effort in ensuring victory in Tripura and stupendous performance in both Nagaland and Meghalaya.

In a series of tweets, the Finance Minister credited the government’s development agenda under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“Congratulations to @BJP4India Karyakartas, @BJP4Tripura @BJP4Nagaland & @BJP4Meghalaya on getting historic support of people in the legislative assembly elections. The sweeping success of BJP & its allies underscores developmental agenda under leadership of PM @narendramodi ji,” he wrote.

He especially thanked the people of Tripura, where the BJP wiped out the CPI(M) government which has ruled the north-eastern state uninterrupted since 1993.

“Congratulations to people of #Tripura for historic victory of BJP in the legislative assembly elections. People of #Tripura have accepted development against discriminatory and corrupt leftist rule. Gratitude to the people,” he wrote.

Jaitley said that the victories are proof that the people of the three states are against corruption and support the Centre’s mission of ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’.

“Success of BJP & allies in #Tripura #Nagaland & #Meghalaya legislative assembly elections emphasises zero tolerance policy of BJP against corruption, focus on development & growth of the country with highest priority to #SabkaSaathSabkaVikas,” he wrote.

Leading on 44 seats, the BJP is set to form a government in the 60-seat Tripura Assembly. The CPI(M) was down to 14.
