Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday instructed security agencies to remain on high alert and work in close coordination to eliminate terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.

During his visit, Shah chaired a high-level meeting to review the security scenario in the Union Territory.

The meeting was attended by Jammu & Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, the Union Home Secretary, Director (IB), Chief Secretary and DGP of J&K, heads of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), and other senior officers.

Appreciating the efforts of the UT administration and security agencies, the Home Minister lauded the peaceful conduct of the Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2025.

He reiterated the government’s zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Shah also praised the pivotal role of security forces in relief and rescue operations during the recent flash floods in J&K, which helped save many lives. He assured full support of the CAPFs in managing natural calamities in the Union Territory.
