Union Home Minister Amit Shah attended on Monday a groundbreaking ceremony for projects with corporate sector investment of Rs 4 lakh crore, while inaugurating and laying foundation stone for government projects and schemes involving over Rs 9,300 crores.

The Home Minister also inaugurated here a six day mega state-level exhibition on the theme of various aspects of the newly- promulgated three criminal laws and their applications in prosecution and justice delivery process.

Shah landed in the Pink City at the Sanganer International Airport by a special BSF plane around 11:30 am. Soon after, he drove to the Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Center (JECC) to inaugurate the exhibition and launch various projects and programmes.

Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and a select group of dignitaries, including acting Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court Sanjeev Prakash Sharma, Deputy Chief Ministers Diya Kumari and Dr Prem Chand Bairwa and Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, were present.

At JECC, he flagged off new vehicles for use by the Forensic Science Laboratory sleuths and scooters and motorcycles to be used for patrolling under the women security programme. Then, he proceeded to inaugurate the exhibition and also sought briefing on various activities held at the exhibition.

Shah then inaugurated and laid, by remote control, the foundation stone of projects that bring corporate investment of around Rs 4 lakh crore, the MoU for which was signed as per the agreements made in the Rising Rajasthan Global Investors Summit in December last year.

Besides this, projects and initiatives of Rs 9300 crore sanctioned by the Centre or the state government under different schemes or programmes were either inaugurated or the foundation stones were laid by the Union Minister.

The Home Minister also provided funds of Rs 260 crore through direct bank transfer to the beneficiaries of free school uniform scheme and Rs 364 crore to beneficiaries of the milk subsidy scheme. He also launched an initiative of 150 unit free electricity per month under the PM Surya Ghar Yojna.

HM Shah later addressed a huge gathering at the venue.
