During the ceremony, Baba Ramdev emphasized the hospital’s focus on treatments that “cleanse the body” using ancient methods.
“Today is the inauguration of the first integrated hospital in India,” he told reporters. “Our Home Minister, who prioritises Sanatan Dharma and encourages the growth of Yoga and Ayurveda, has inaugurated this hospital.”

Ramdev explained that the hospital will offer a wide range of therapies, including Yoga, Ayurveda, naturopathy, panchkarma, shatkarma, and other traditional treatments. He described it as “the world’s first hybrid hospital,” where 90–99% of patients receive these integrative therapies. He highlighted treatments like Akshi Tarpan, Shirodhara, Karna Pooranam, and colon therapy, which aim to reduce stress, inflammation, and other causes of disease.
“We provide over 100 types of basti, or enemas,” Ramdev added. “Anyone familiar with Ayurveda knows their benefits.” He also credited Sunil Ahuja for making the hospital a reality, noting Ahuja’s role in establishing more than 50 critical care hospitals.
Acharya Balkrishna, CEO of Patanjali Ayurved, shared details about the hospital’s capacity and vision. “More than 1 crore patients worldwide have already been treated in our existing departments. With these new facilities, even patients with chronic illnesses can receive proper care,” he said.
Balkrishna explained that the hospital’s integrative approach addresses 70-80% of illnesses using alternative medicine, while modern systems are available for emergencies and critical conditions.
“We offer patients choice, and that is central to our care,” he emphasised. He further noted that the hospital is likely the largest integrated hybrid facility of its kind, having already treated over 1.38 crore patients globally.
Patanjali’s wellness initiatives extend beyond the hospital. The Patanjali Yogpeeth Wellness Centre is designed to promote deep physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. Set amid lush greenery and fresh air, the centre combines naturopathy, Ayurveda, yoga, panchakarma, and other traditional healing practices.
The centre caters to individuals seeking natural remedies for chronic ailments, lifestyle disorders, and stress. Visitors receive personalised care through a variety of therapies, including yoga therapy, Ayurvedic treatments, detox programs, physiotherapy, acupressure, acupuncture, Shatkarma, Shringi, dental care, and ozone therapy.
The University of Patanjali, located on a 34.43-acre campus within Patanjali Yogpeeth, supports 11 academic departments and offers 678 courses across 33 programs. Meanwhile, the Patanjali Ayurveda Hospital, linked to the Patanjali Bhartiya Ayurvigyan Avam Anusandhan Sansthan, provides extensive facilities, including paediatrics, a dental clinic, imaging labs, cardiology labs, and physiotherapy.
