Allahabad High Court has given relief to Abbas Ansari, the MLA son of mafia leader Mukhtar Ansari. The court stayed the trial court proceedings in the code of conduct violation case until the next hearing.
A single bench of Justice Sameer Jain heard the case pertaining to gathering of a crowd without permission. An FIR was lodged at the Kotwali police station in the Mau district.where Abbas Ansari was a candidate from the Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party. He has filed a petition seeking the cancellation of the charge sheet.

The accused had held an unauthorized meeting at Paharpura Maidan on March 3, 2022, at 8:30 pm.After gathering a crowd at the meeting, he threatened the Mau administration from the stage that he would stop after the elections and teach a lesson.
The next day, on March 4, 2022, Sub-Inspector Ganga Ram Bind filed an FIR at the Kotwali police station against Abbas Ansari, his younger brother Umar Abbas Ansari, and 150 unidentified individuals.
The next hearing in the case will be held on December 1, 2025.
