Allahabad High Court has extended the interim stay of trial by the lower court against senior Samajwadi Party leader and former Prayagraj MP Kunwar Rewati Raman Singh till October 15 next.
The single bench of Justice Sameer Jain hearing the case extended the interim stay as the Uttar Pradesh government has sought time to file a counter-affidavit. The court has set October 15th for the next hearing.

On August 21, Rewati Raman Singh received interim relief from the Allahabad High Court.
SP leader Singh had filed a petition in the Allahabad High Court seeking quashing of all trial court proceedings in the case filed against him.
An FIR was filed against Rewati Raman Singh at the Kareli police station in Prayagraj during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The case pertained to the SP leader and his supporters, who had gheraoed the police station.
Following this incident, the police registered a case against all the accused under various sections, including violation of the Model Code of Conduct and obstruction of government work.
In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Kunwar Rewati Raman Singh’s son, Ujjwal Raman Singh, was the Congress candidate from Prayagraj.
