Following the release of Samajwadi Party leader Mohammad Azam Khan from jail on Tuesday, discussions are rife about the possibility of him joining the BSP. The party’s national president, Akhilesh Yadav, stated that all false cases against him will be withdrawn if the Samajwadi Party forms a government in Uttar Pradesh.
The SP chief said,” The BJP, the Rampur MLA, and a retired officer who is receiving extension after extension will not be allowed to commit injustice”. He said that ”today is a happy day for all of us”, and expressed the hope that all the cases against Azam Khan will be dismissed in the future.

When asked about the rumours of Azam Khan joining the BSP, he said that ”Azam Khan is with the Samajwadi Party’s founder, Netaji, and with us. The Samajwadi Party has been fighting the BJP for ages, not just today.”
In his post on X, he said, ”The release of Azam Khan is a source of relief and joy for him, his family, all of us, and everyone who believes in justice. We sincerely thank the court for upholding its faith in justice.
”Today, those who file false cases have learned that every lie has its limits, and so does every conspiracy. The BJP never likes people who represent social harmony.”
Further, he said Azam Khan will once again stand with every marginalised, oppressed, suffering, and humiliated person, raising his voice against the repression of the people by the BJP and its allies. ”As always, he will continue to be a symbol of the emotional unity of the nation and the state, upholding socialist values and principles, and moving forward on the path of social justice!”
Earlier, a rumor was spread that Azam Khan would join the BSP during Mayawati’s rally in Lucknow, slated for October 9.
