Samajwadi Party (SP) National President Akhilesh Yadav on Friday hit out at the Yogi Adityanath-led government in Uttar Pradesh, accusing it of failing to provide security to citizens and allowing an “atmosphere of terror” to prevail in the state.
In a social media post, Yadav also referred to the increasing presence of wild animals in populated areas. “Somewhere there is a wolf, somewhere a leopard, somewhere a python, somewhere a bull… Will the BJP government act to address this atmosphere of fear in Uttar Pradesh, or will it wash its hands off by saying that no animal footprints have been found?” he asked.

Pointing to recent incidents of animal attacks, the SP chief said, “Are the marks on the injured bodies of those being attacked not enough? Are the wounds of parents whose children are taken away by animals not proof? Will the BJP now file an FIR against CCTV footage?”
Separately, Yadav also targeted the ruling party over what he termed the BJP’s “GST scam.” He alleged that the government had increased GST on raw materials while reducing it on finished goods, creating hardship for traders and manufacturers.
“The BJP reduced GST on finished goods for display but increased GST on the raw materials used to make those goods. This is the truth behind the so-called ‘GST relief,’” Yadav said.
He further claimed that BJP leaders misled the public by raising slogans of 50 percent discount, only to create confusion and strain in the marketplace. “When people fail to find cheap goods, they quarrel with shopkeepers. The BJP is not improving the situation but ruining the relationship between customers and shopkeepers. The BJP is not connected to anyone,” he added.
