Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Friday questioned the Yogi Adityanath government on the fine of Rs 8 lakh imposed on his vehicles.
He himself revealed this in a press conference here, saying, “I received the challan issued for the vehicles of my convoy only yesterday. I did not even look at the paper because the government issued the fine. Our vehicle must have come in their camera.”

“We accepted the challans and paid the money. But the story we have to find is whether a BJP leader was running this camera or it is of the government,” he said.
Replying to BJP MLA Ketki Singh’s allegation against him about tap theft , Akhilesh Yadav said, “If I am accused of stealing the tap and you all got my house washed with Ganga water, you can forget, but I cannot forget it. A newspaper had done a sting operation on the tap theft case.”
Clearly referring to a former senior IAS officer, the SP president said, “A journalist had obtained all the information.”
On the change in GST rates, Akhilesh Yadav said, “All this was done keeping the elections in mind. Profiteering is not decreasing. Trump’s tariff has shut the mouths of BJP leaders. People talking about Make in India are filling the markets with Chinese goods. Chinese goods will put an end to One District One Product”.
On a query about UP Minister and NISHAD Party chief Sanjay Nishad’s threat to break his alliance with BJP, he said, “Commenting on such leaders will only increase their value. I don’t want to add their value,” he said.
He further said that lathicharge on ABVP workers and students is very insulting. “I am counting the days since Janmashtami. The government has 493 days left to go,” he announced.
He said corruption and extortion are rampant everywhere under this government. “The government does not want to let people study because those who read and write will question the government. The government does not want to answer. Education gives self-confidence, teachers teach positive things and show the progressive path,” he said.
