Samajwadi Party chief and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh has expressed apprehensions over the credibility of EVMs. In a tweet on Wednesday, Yadav while posting a photo questioned, why is the government showing EVMs to the German Foreign Minister?
The SP president wrote that when Germany withdrew EVMs for elections in 2009, considering them unconstitutional, then what the government here wants to prove by showing EVMs to their minister.

The Mainpuri Lok Sabha by-poll was necessitated due to the death of SP patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav. Akhilesh’s wife Dimple is the SP candidate from Mainpuri.
Rampur assembly seat fell vacant after the disqualification of SP’s senior leader Mohammad Azam Khan while Khatauli assembly by-poll was held due to the disqualification of BJP member Vikram Saini.
