Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued clear instructions to officials to ensure that every development project is completed with quality and within the stipulated time frame.
“A nodal officer should be appointed for each project to regularly monitor the work. If negligence on the part of a contractor is found, strict action must be taken. Similarly, if any flaw is detected or quality is compromised, action will certainly be taken against those responsible. Accountability of officers will be fixed for every project,” the Chief Minister said.

Taking stock of progress, CM Yogi said the development works have created a strong positive perception of Gorakhpur across the country and emphasized that there should be no hindrance in their execution. He directed the District Magistrate to regularly seek updates from nodal officers about the status of each project.
The CM instructed officials to expedite major development projects—including PAC Mahila Battalion, Khajanchi Bazar, Padri Bazar, Bargadwa, Gorakhnath, Padleganj–Nausadh Flyover, and Bhopa Bazar Overbridge—and ensure quality completion within deadlines.
On the health front, the Chief Minister said that encephalitis (JE and AES), once a curse for Purvanchal, has been brought under control, but constant vigilance remains necessary. He stressed the need for awareness and cleanliness drives to prevent dengue and other seasonal diseases, with intensified publicity campaigns across all municipal bodies.
Yogi Adityanath further stated that mafia rule has been eliminated across Uttar Pradesh, including Gorakhpur. However, strict action must continue against the “ambulance mafia” and middlemen in the medical field to ensure no such practices flourish.
Highlighting Gorakhpur’s growing stature, he said the city is now competing with major smart cities, which makes smooth traffic management essential. He directed the traffic police and municipal corporation to work together to prevent traffic jams, remove encroachments, and rehabilitate street vendors systematically.
The CM also emphasized that funds transferred to parents of council school students for uniforms, bags, shoes, and socks must be used strictly for this purpose. Schools should ensure that children attend in proper uniforms, thereby fostering discipline and coordination.
During the review, the Chief Minister appreciated the “Bal Vatika” initiative for pre-school children and urged officials to involve public representatives in its promotion. He also reviewed “Project Alankar” for secondary schools and stressed maintaining construction quality.
Discussing the ambitious Godhdoiya Nala project aimed at resolving waterlogging, he directed officials to accelerate construction and make alternative arrangements in case of rain disruptions. Reviewing the construction of the STP under the Amrit Yojana, the CM stressed that post-construction maintenance is equally important and instructed that contracts include a 10-year maintenance agreement with the construction firm.
