Days after Rahul Gandhi attacked the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab alleging that it was being run with a remote control by the party’s Delhi leaders, the AAP on Friday hit back at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi saying Gandhi family dictated their leaders from Delhi to run affairs.
Sharing a photo on Twitter of former PM Dr Manmohan Singh, folding hands before Rahul Gandhi, AAP leader and Rajya Sabha member Raghav Chadha said that Gandhis controlled former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
During the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Punjab, Rahul Gandhi had  sought to point towards AAP Member of Parliament (MP) Raghav Chadha for calling the shots in the Bhagwant Mann-led dispensation in the state.
Gandhi said during the yatra that he asked a farmer about the new AAP government in Punjab. His reply was that it was a remote controlled government, the former Congress chief claimed. Reacting sharply to this statement by Rahul Gandhi, Chadha said that “Your (Gandhi’s) party has been trying to rebrand you since I was born, and it doesn’t look like it will work this time either.”

Castigating Gandhis for anti-Sikh riots and attack on the Sri Darbar Sahib, the AAP MP said that Rahul did not have any remorse for these dastardly acts committed by his family and he should apologize to people of Punjab at once.

Raghav stressed that he has Punjabi blood in his veins, and said the 1984 massacre is unforgivable. A pathological dislike for Punjabis is in the Congress party’s DNA. AAP MP said that Congress has always worked against the interest of Punjab and Sikhs but AAP will not now tolerate their nefarious designs and will strongly protect the rights of Punjabis.

Earlier after Gandhi had said that Mann should not become remote control of anyone and should run the state independently,  the ruling AAP had attacked him saying the Congress used to summon former Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi often to Delhi.

The Punjab CM had also told Gandhi that he was made the chief minister by the public and reminded him of an “insult” inflicted on former party leader Captain Amarinder Singh by unceremoniously removing him from the post of CM months before 2022 Punjab Assembly polls.
