Meanwhile, the Haryana Police has also claimed that 12 of its personnel sustained injuries after being attacked by farmers.
The Haryana Police has seized 814 kilogram of ‘doda post’ (poppy straw) from a vehicle in Fatehabad district.
Sharing the information on Monday, a Haryana Police spokesperson informed that a police team during night patrolling on Sunday noticed a Tata ace vehicle coming from the village Amani side.
On seeing the police, the driver of the vehicle panicked and abandoned it, and managed to escape taking advantage of fog and darkness. Upon suspicion, when the vehicle was searched, it led to the recovery of 40 plastic bags of doda post weighing 814 kilogram.
The recovery was made by a team of Sadar Police Station, Tohana during night patrolling. The drive being carried out by the Fatehabad Police against drugs has got huge success on the very first day of the new year, said Superintendent of Police Fatehabad, Smt. Astha Modi.
Police have registered a case under NDPS Act against the unknown accused at Sadar thana. A search operation to nab the accused has been started.
