Nearly 40,000 bank employees across Madhya Pradesh took part in the nationwide protest called by various labour unions and organizations on Wednesday.
The bank strike was observed on the call of the All India Bank Employees’ Association, All India Bank Officers’ Association, and Bank Employees’ Federation of India.

The bank employees struck work, to press for their 17 demands.
In Bhopal, the functioning of about 400 branches of different banks having almost 5000 officers and employees, were affected by the strike.
The striking officers and employees gathered near the Government Press, and raised slogans holding red flags and banners in their hands.
The Trade Unions Combined Front spokesperson V K Sharma said that the central trade union organizations have called the strike to protest against the union BJP government’s anti-people and anti-labourers policies.
He said the bank employees have also come out in support of the nationwide strike.
