Senior PCC leader and advisor to the government Harkara Venugopal was present at the airport to oversee the transportation of the Jharkhand MLAs to the resort. A large number of policemen were deployed at the Begumpet Airport before the arrival of the charter planes.

The MLAs boarded the two buses waiting to ferry them to the resort since yesterday. The MLAs could not fly to the city by private chartered flights yesterday due to fog-induced poor visibility.

Meanwhile, in Jharkhand, Champai Soren was elected the new leader of the JMM Legislature Party following the arrest of his predecessor, Hemant Soren, by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on 31 January under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) after he met the governor and submitted his resignation as chief minister.

The new chief minister has ten days to prove his majority. The legislators of the JMM alliance have been shifted to Hyderabad to thwart any poaching attempts by the BJP which has 25 MLAs. The 81-member Assembly JMM has 29 MLAs, Congress 17, and RJD 1.
