Ahead of the Diwali festival, the Odisha government on Thursday announced a 3 per cent hike in the Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) for the State government employees and pensioners.
According to a statement issued here, the State government has increased the Dearness Allowance by 3 per cent. The hike in DA and dearness relief for the government employees and pensioners was approved by Chief Minister Mohan Majhi.

The hike in DA will be effective retrospectively from 1 July, 2025, according to the statement.
With the latest hike, the dearness allowance and dearness relief for employees and pensioners rose to 58 per cent from 55 per cent.
Over 8.5 lakh government and pensioners would benefit from the decision.
