25-year-old participant dies during half-marathon in Indore

A 25-year-old participant in a 21-km half-marathon collapsed near the finish line and died during the event in Indore on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Aryan Todi from Faridabad, police said.

Aryan was about 500 metres from the finish line at Nehru Stadium when he collapsed while running.

A doctor at the venue gave him CPR, following which Aryan was rushed to MYH hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Police officials said Aryan is suspected to have died of cardiac arrest, though the exact cause will be known after the post-mortem.
