Join the artistic journey with Sujata Dere and Pritam Mehta at ‘Nature of Things’

Delve into the world of observation, imagination, and expression at The Nature of Things. A duo Art Exhibition by artists Sujata Dere & Pritam Mehta showcasing Paintings and Mixed Media works on paper, canvas, and wood will be put out 16 March 2018 onwards. The works include some unique art form like Coffee & Salt infused paintings along with the wood-burning technique – ‘Pyrography’.

Pyrography is relatively unknown in India and is the art of burning on wood or leather by the application of controlled heat. The burning is done by special, hand-held pyrography tools with solid-point or wire-tip nibs that are heated through an electric pyrography machine. There are several hundred types of nibs, and the applied temperature can be regulated through a variable temperature control.

These works are a window to the diversity and intricacy of nature’s beauty. Bold detailing – palpable energy as well as a myriad of subtle cues to the cyclical forces of life. Both these artists, Sujata Dere and Pritam Mehta, through a kind of meditative observation of animals and patterns in the natural world, are also observing their own inner worlds.

Shashi Tharoor and Anjolie Ela Menon will be the guest of honor for the exhibition to be held on Friday, March 16, 6.30pm onwards.
