Rani Mukerji praises audience’s taste for diverse cinema
Rani Mukerji discusses audience preferences in Bollywood, highlighting the success of women-centric films and her love for diverse storytelling.
Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji and designer Sabyasachi recently featured in the chat show hosted by Neha Dhupia. Both the celebs let out many secrets in the candid conversation in BFFs with Vogue.
Rani Mukerji was asked if she curses and she instantly replied, ‘’Yes, I do. I curse my husband every day; I abuse my husband every day (laughs)!’’ Putting the blame on Sabyasachi, the actress said, “He does such loving things that the cursing comes out with love! So, in my family when we curse, we curse with love. We don’t curse with hate. If I curse somebody, that means I really love that person.’’
Sabyasachi revealed his favorite Cannes appearance among, Deepika, Aishwarya or Sonam. He said, “I would say Deepika. When Deepika’s gone on the red carpet in Cannes, she’s being very easy breezy. I like the fact she didn’t make too much effort.”

Rani revealed the story of meeting her husband Aditya Chopra, too, on the show. She said, ‘’After having faced failure for a couple of my films, luckily Mujhse Dosti Karoge happened and that’s when I met Adi first time professionally. He told me that I’m doing a couple of crap films and that people have pressured him not to take me because they think you don’t have the equity for a Yash Raj film but Adi had belief in my talent and me and thought that I was good for the part,.‘’
Rani Mukerji also talked about her daughter Adira when Neha asked which habit of Aditya she doesn’t want Adira to acquire, she said, “His immense passion for food.” What she went on to say next was interesting, Rani added, “It’s Food and Films, actually its’ three Fs – Food, Films and I will not spell out the third F.”
Meanwhile, the actress went on to disclose a lot about her beau. “It’s not as if he is paranoid about the cameras. He just doesn’t want to be photographed. He had told me after our marriage, ‘God when I fell in love with you, I didn’t stop to think that I was in love with an actress. Now, because of you, people are attaching my pictures to yours as well,” she added.
Talking about keeping Virat and Anushka’s wedding a secret, the designer said his organisation has a code name when working for such weddings, to which Rani added, “Sabyasachi did a trial at my wedding, so Virat and Anushka’s wedding went smoothly.”
Sabyasachi was asked about the best thing about his job and he said, “To dress up beautiful ladies like Rani and to travel.’’
