After iSmart Shankar, Puri Jagannadh will be directing his next untitled project with actor Vijay Deverakonda. The official announcement was made on Monday.

The film will be produced by Puri and Charmme Kaur under Puri Jagannadh Touring Talkies and Puri Connects banner.

Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh announced the film on social media. Charmee Kaur, producer of the film, also shared the news on her official Twitter handle.

Vijay Deverakonda was most recently seen in Dear Comrade as a rebellious student lover who falls in love with a state level cricketer, played by Rashmika Mandanna.

Filmmmaker and producer Karan Johar announced earlier in May that he had acquired the rights of Dear Comrade’s rights and the film will soon be made in Hindi.

Dear Comrade is Vijay Deverakonda’s second film after Arjun Reddy to get a Bollywood remake, Kabir Singh.

Despite receiving criticism for its propagation of toxic masculinity and violence against women, Kabir Singh became one of the highest grossing film of 2019.

The yet-untitled film’s cast and technicians will be announced shortly.
