The much-anticipated trailer of Dhadak starring Ishaan Khatter and Janhavi Kapoor was unveiled on 11 June. Though the B-Towners praised the new entries to the industry, the audience seems to be disappointed. The first look of Dhadak, which is a remake of critically acclaimed Marathi film Sairat, probably couldn’t gather as much love and appreciation as the latter did.
Comparing it to the previous films by the makers, such as Badrinath Ki Dulhania, trolls did not hold back from taking a jibe at the trailer. Here is how they reacted.
Regional cinema is soulful, it captures the dialect & earthen humor so well. A Bollywood remake is almost a parody by ham actors and a khichdi of local dialect and Hindi. #Sairat vs #Dhadak is #Reebok vs #Reebook

#Sairat was a special and a rare movie where art house cinema got blended into commercial cinema so nicely that it ended up being a socio cultural cult in Maharashtra belt. Don’t even compare it with #Dhadak . Karan Johar ne ladke ko GAP ka T nehi pehnaya wohi bahut hai. 😐😑

Bollywood fanatics PLEASE watch Sairat before you, inevitably, watch #Dhadak. Watch the honest, innocent, pure, tragic love story before it’s tainted with perfect hair, flawless clothes & nepotism.
The three minutes long trailer shows Janhvi as Parthavi and Ishaan as Madhur. It revolves around the love story of a low-caste young boy and the daughter of a wealthy upper cast landlord. The trailer features the opening lines of a song, Zingat, from the film Sairat. Just like Sairat, the film touches the topic of the caste system, and Janhvi manages to impress with her Rajasthani accent. Check out the trailer here.
Ram Charan is back with his most ambitious role yet. A small village. A sport. And a man who carries the pride of an entire community on his shoulders. 'Peddi' is the kind of story that does not leave you when the credits roll.
Ram Charan's Peddi hits the ground running before its June 4 release. North America premiere pre-sales are closing in on a historic milestone. India has already seen lakhs of tickets sold across opening weekend shows.
A vintage family moment from Los Angeles shows Sridevi smiling while holding one-year-old Janhvi as Boney Kapoor stands behind them. The nostalgic post is part of the filmmaker’s ongoing habit of sharing cherished memories.
