“This is a dream come true,” Morello said, expressing his excitement about performing in India for the first time. “India has always been on my map; a country full of passionate music lovers who have followed my journey for years. To finally play these songs live here is incredibly special. Music is about connection, revolution, and soul. And I cannot wait to share that energy with the fans this December.”

Morello has spent over three decades redefining rock music. His career has given a unique blend of activism and art. And, he has often been using music as a platform for political expression.

He is popular from the aggressive sounds of Rage Against the Machine to the soulful solo work as The Nightwatchman, and collaborations in projects like Street Sweeper Social Club and Prophets of Rage. Safe to say, Morello has never held himself back from mixing powerful messages with experimental music.

The musician openly identifies as a socialist. This is why, he often uses his platform to speak out on issues from social justice, environmental crises to inequality. His guitars are often decorated with symbolic imagery like hammer-and-sickle stickers.

Morello’s influences include revolutionary figures like Che Guevara and the Black Panther Party. He draws inspiration from them for his worldview and of course his musical activism.

Fans of Rage Against the Machine will also recognise his support for various global social movements. He has, in the past, backed campaigns for indigenous rights, land reform, and anti-imperialist causes.
