Tish Cyrus: “Cannabis could have enhanced my parenting”

Tish and Miley Cyrus

Tish Cyrus, renowned momager and mother of Miley Cyrus, recently delved into a candid discussion about her views on parenting and cannabis. In the latest episode of her podcast, “Sorry We’re Stoned,” co-hosted with her daughter Brandi Cyrus and featuring a guest appearance by Wiz Khalifa, Tish shared her belief that smoking weed might have actually made her a better parent.

Reflecting on her past, Tish revealed that she didn’t start smoking pot until she was 46, long after her kids were grown. However, she expressed a sense of regret, suggesting that incorporating cannabis into her life earlier on could have positively influenced her parenting style. “I think I would’ve been a better parent if I would’ve smoked then,” she admitted, musing on how it might have made mundane tasks like school projects more enjoyable and allowed her to be more tolerant.

Tish’s openness about her parenting journey comes as no surprise, considering she has five children – Miley, Braison, and Noah with ex-husband Billy Ray Cyrus, and Brandi and Trace from a previous relationship. Despite divorcing Billy Ray in 2022 and moving on to new marriages, Tish remains transparent about her experiences and the evolution of her perspective.

In a recent interview on Alex Cooper’s podcast, “Call Her Daddy,” Tish shared the catalyst behind her decision to start using cannabis. Following a harrowing experience involving a tour bus accident that erupted in flames shortly after she and her daughter Noah evacuated, Tish struggled with sleep while on tour buses. Turning to prescription medication like Ambien only made matters worse, prompting Miley to suggest cannabis as an alternative.

Tish’s journey with cannabis highlights the complexity of modern parenting and the diverse ways individuals navigate challenges and seek solutions. By sharing her experiences openly, she sparks conversations about alternative approaches to self-care and parenting, encouraging others to explore what works best for them.
