For Sumbul, this isn’t just another role. It marks a return to the space she calls “home.” Speaking about her comeback, she said, “It’s been a while since I’ve done something that felt ‘right’, and this show feels just like that. I know my fans have been waiting, and honestly, so have I. Coming back with ‘Itti Si Khushi’ feels like coming back to myself.”

Sumbul’s character, Anvita, is the emotional backbone of her family. After losing her mother unexpectedly, Anvita steps up as the primary caregiver to her younger siblings. On top of that, she also deals with the struggles of having a father who is battling alcoholism.

“Anvita is someone who carries a lot on her shoulders, but she does it quietly, with love,” Sumbul Touqeer shared. “She has this silent strength. She’s the kind of person who finds beauty even in the hardest days. That’s what drew me to her story.”

The show’s first promo was recently shot in Mumbai, and Sumbul says the experience was full of emotions. “We really tried to capture the spirit of Mumbai in the promo shoot,” she said. “It wasn’t just about getting the shots right, it was about feeling the city, the character, and the bond between the family.”

Sumbul also praised her co-actors, Rajat Verma and Varun Badola, who play important roles in the show.

“Working with Rajat and Varun Sir has been amazing. The chemistry we’ve built as a cast made shooting so much easier, and more fun.”

After earning a loyal fan base with roles like Imlie Chaturvedi Rathore in ‘Imlie’ and IAS officer Kavya Bansal in ‘Kavya: Ek Jazbaa, Ek Junoon’, she also made waves in reality TV. In 2022, she participated in ‘Bigg Boss 16’ and ended her journey as one of the finalists, finishing in 7th place.
