But Mammootty and Mohanlal are not the only big names in the film. The cast also includes powerhouse performers like Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, Nayanthara, and Revathy.
The much-talked-about film ‘Patriot’, directed by Mahesh Narayanan, has dropped its official teaser, and social media is buzzing with excitement. The film is special not only because of its story but also because it brings together two of Kerala’s biggest stars, Mammootty and Mohanlal, on the same screen.
The teaser was shared by Mohanlal himself on his X (formerly Twitter) account with the caption, “#PATRIOT official teaser.”
But Mammootty and Mohanlal are not the only big names in the film. The cast also includes powerhouse performers like Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, Nayanthara, and Revathy.
The teaser begins with a striking voiceover: “I remember there was a time when this nation was controlled by the two of them. Together. Over these years, what they earned wasn’t just followers. Faith. Trust.”
We then get a glimpse of Mammootty saying, “They are going to bring social score to people.” Soon after, Mohanlal, who appears in the uniform of an army general, is heard declaring, “There are three of us. Do you think you can stop us?”

The teaser also introduces a mysterious government program called “Periscope.” Kunchacko Boban is seen as Daniel, a key figure linked to the program. Nayanthara’s character questions if this program, tied to a student laptop scheme, is secretly watching citizens. Another voice hints at the possibility of surveillance, asking if the system is spying on people.
The teaser ends with Mammootty’s sharp line: “Great Indian traitor… or Patriot.”
Another reason ‘Patriot’ is in the spotlight is because it marks Mammootty’s return to cinema after an eight-month break. The 74-year-old actor had stepped away from public life due to health issues and underwent treatment in Chennai.
Director Mahesh Narayanan revealed that about 60 percent of the movie has already been shot. Production was paused during Mammootty’s recovery. But now the team is now moving forward with renewed energy.
