On the occasion of Tamil superstar Suriya’s birthday, the makers of his upcoming action thriller ‘Karuppu’ dropped the much-awaited teaser, and it promises a powerful ride ahead.
The film is directed by RJ Balaji and produced by Dream Warrior Pictures. As a birthday treat for fans, the production house shared the teaser on their official X handle (formerly Twitter), saying, “On this special day of celebrating @Suriya_offl sir, we’re thrilled to present the powerful teaser of #Karuppu.”

The teaser opens on a spiritual yet intense note. A fiery ritual is shown where the deity Karuppu is being worshipped using chilli powder. A voiceover sets the tone, saying, “This isn’t a soft god who accepts flowers. If you pray with true faith and offer chillies, he gives instant justice.”
That line sets up the tone of the film; intense, raw, and rooted in justice.
Suriya appears soon after, and we get our first glimpse of his role. He plays a lawyer named Saravanan, but we quickly learn there’s more to him. He’s also known by another name ‘Karuppu’.

Trisha stars opposite Suriya, reuniting the popular pair once again. The cast also includes a mix of talents from Tamil and Malayalam cinema, such as Indrans, Sshivada, Swasika, Yogi Babu, and Natty.
The music is being composed by rising star Sai Abhyankkar, while cinematographer GK Vishnu is behind the visuals. Vishnu has previously worked on high-profile projects like ‘Bigil’, ‘Jawan’, and ‘Mersal’.
The editing is by R Kalaivanan, and action scenes are choreographed by Vikram Mor. Art direction is handled by Arun Venjaramoodu.
