Fans of Dulquer Salmaan were eagerly counting down the days for ‘Kaantha’ release. The film, directed by Selvamani Selvaraj, was originally scheduled to hit theaters on September 12. However, the makers have now announced a delay.
Spirit Media, one of the production houses, shared the news on social media. The statement expressed gratitude to fans for their overwhelming support and explained why they had to postpone it.

“To our incredible audience, we are truly moved by the love and support you’ve shown since the release of our teaser. It means the world to us and motivates us to give our very best,” the team wrote. “Following the success of ‘Lokah’, we want ‘Kaantha’ to shine on the box office. We are putting together something equally special and will announce the new release date soon. Thank you once again for standing by us. We can’t wait to see you in cinemas.”

The film’s teaser, which released a few weeks ago, had already generated excitement. Fans were talking about the glimpses of the storyline.
The teaser shows the making of a film called ‘Saantha’, which is claimed to be Tamil cinema’s first horror film.
Dulquer Salmaan plays the lead role in the movie within the movie. And, Samuthirakani (Ayya) plays the writer and director.
The teaser shows that Ayya wants to shoot a suspenseful scene first. A character named Chandran encounters the spirit Neeli. And, Dulquer insists on filming a lighter, more pleasant scene.
The tension escalates between them when Dulquer changes the film’s title from ‘Saantha’ to ‘Kaantha’. The teaser also highlights the earlier mentor-student bond between Dulquer and Ayya.
