The wait for Kantara: Chapter 1 just got more exciting, as the makers have finally revealed the first look of actor Gulshan Devaiah, who joins the prequel in a key role. On August 19, Hombale Films introduced him as ‘Kulashekara’, a character who appears seated on a royal throne, wearing jewellery and a grand crown.
The picture has sparked huge curiosity among fans.

This reveal comes at a perfect time, just weeks after the film’s director and lead star Rishab Shetty confirmed that the shoot had been wrapped up.
To mark the milestone, the production house released a poster along with a heartfelt message: “Wrap Up. The Journey Begins. Kantara: Chapter 1 has been a divine journey, deeply rooted in our culture, brought to life with unwavering dedication, relentless hard work, and incredible team spirit.”
The prequel promises to take audiences back in time, exploring the origin story behind the mystical and powerful world that won hearts in the first ‘Kantara’. Written and directed by Rishab Shetty himself, the film will once again have him in the spotlight.
Earlier, on his 42nd birthday, the makers had already teased fans with a poster. It showed Shetty as a fierce tribal warrior, hinting at an emotional and dramatic backstory. The caption read: “Where legends are born and the roar of the wild echoes. Kantara, a prequel to the masterpiece that moved millions.”
The original ‘Kantara’, released in 2022. It told the story of a Kambala champion locking horns with a forest officer over issues on land and traditions. Blending folklore, culture, and gripping storytelling, the film struck a chord with audiences nationwide.
