Richa Chadha channels Meena Kumari for ‘Heeramandi’ role

Richa Chadha, famous for the different kinds of roles she plays in films, web series etc, is currently on a great high of her career with an incredible line-up of films in her kitty. She has been apparently shooting non-stop for the last few months, and the roles she is playing in them are, as usual, diverse. In her upcoming Shakeela biopic, Richa plays the yesteryear adult film star in the titular role, while Inside Edge will bring her back as the ruthless businesswoman.
The actress is currently deep into the character of a lawyer, her role in Section 375, a courtroom drama. The Ajay Bahl directorial stars Akshaye Khanna alongside Richa.
The Fukrey star has been shooting for the film since mid-January and has been focusing on her role. The actress says she is on a tough emotional ride as the role is very demanding. To stay focussed, Richa has decided to stay away from any public appearance for the coming few weeks. She intends to live just between the sets and her home, keeping a low profile, to help herself stay in the character.

“I want to stay in the zone of my character. We did a massive portion of courtroom sequences which needed me to stay focussed, as it needed for me to be in the element and be in the character which was high on emotions. Shooting for courtroom scenes needs a lot of channelling of emotions and thus my life was all about going to the sets and back home. I haven’t met anyone or been part of any social gatherings as I want to maintain a low profile for this period,” said Richa Chadha.
Section 375 is slated to hit the theatres in April 2019.
