What could be a better day than a birthday to reveal Ranveer Singh’s first look as ace cricketer Kapil Dev in the upcoming sports film ’83.

Ranveer Singh presented the first look of himself as ‘Haryana hurricane’ on his birthday today and surprised fans with the similarity he bears to former Indian cricket team captain.

Dressed in a white shirt, Ranveer spins the ball with a fierce look in his eyes. The hairdo and moustache are strikingly similar. The actor who made his debut in Band Baaja Baaraat ten years ago turned 34 today.

He shared the look on social media with a post that read, “On my special day, here’s presenting the Haryana hurricane, Kapil Dev.”

Fans cannot get enough of his look and have been complimenting and wishing the star on his special day. Ayushmann Khurrana, who is currently riding high on the success of Article 15 wrote, “wow wow wow” and actor Aahana Kumra wrote, “No way!! Dayum! Happiest birthday @ranveersingh !! Greatest innings to you!!”

Dhadak director Shashank Khaitaan also wrote, “Oh WOW!!! This is so good … exactly like the legend Kapil Dev… Happy Birthday Bro… keep on inspiring… cause thats what you doing with every character you breathing…” whereas cricketer Shikhar Dhawan commented, “Looking exact like pajhi. Happy Birthday bro.Have a great one.”

Sayani Gupta, Sanya Malhotra among others also cheered for Ranveer Singh’s new look.

Being helmed by Kabir Khan, ’83, will tell the story of India’s first cricket world cup win in 1983. Ranveer’s wife and actor Deepika Padukone will play his onscreen wife Romi Dev in the film.

The film also has a cast of seasoned actors as team players including the likes of Saqib Saleem, Pankaj Tripathi and some fresh in Bollywood like Punjabi singer-actor, Ammy Virk and Harrdy Sandhu.
