Ranu Mondal records 36 China Town hit song ‘Aashiqui mein teri’ recreation

Himesh gave the singer a chance to sing for his upcoming film Happy Hardy and Heer, after which she recorded two songs from the film’s album- “Aadat” and “Teri Meri Kahaani” respectively.

Internet singing sensation Ranu Mondal has recorded a new recreation of singer-composer Himesh Reshammiya’s song “Aashiqui Mein Teri”.

After a video of Ranu singing Lata Mangeshkar’s “Ek Pyaar Ka Nagma Hai” at Ranaghat railway station went viral, she was invited by musician Himesh Reshammiya on reality singing show Superstar Singer, which he co-judges.

Himesh gave the singer a chance to sing for his upcoming film Happy Hardy and Heer, after which she recorded two songs from the film’s album- “Aadat” and “Teri Meri Kahaani” respectively.

Recently she sang another track, a re-creation of Himesh’ hit song “Aashiqui Mein Teri” from the film 36 China Town.

Sharing an Instagram video from the recording session on Monday, Reshammiya wrote: “Production of the song is in progress, this is just a scratch. Thank you dear people of the globe for bringing this unadulterated smile on Ranuji’s face. Her versitality and confidence is growing with each song… ‘Aashiqui Mein Teri’ from ‘Happy Hardy and Heer’ is a proof. Lots of love, wishing all of you a very Happy Ganesh Chaturthi.”

Meanwhile,Ranu Mondal’s daughter Elizabeth Sathi Roy has been facing flak from netizens for abandoning her mother in old age. Elizabeth Sath Roy, in an interaction with news agency IANS, said that she had no idea that her mother sung at a railway station and though, she did not visit her regularly, she was in touch with her. Further stating that she was single mother raising a son and running a small grocery store, she had asked her mother to stay with her but Mondal refused.
