Ranbir Kapoor’s much-awaited film Sanju was released on Friday (June 29) and has been ruling the hearts and minds of the audience ever since. Now, it has become a smashing hit at the box office. Ranbir Kapoor’s Sanju has become the number 1 commercial hit film of 2018.

Rajkumar Hirani’s directional received a positive response from the audience and within two days of the release, the film has earned Rs 73 crore. It is also Ranbir Kapoor’s highest opening film.

As per trade analyst Taran Adarsh, Sanju has earned Rs 73.35 crore “East. West. North. South… The REMARKABLE RUN continues pan India… #Sanju creates HAVOC on Day 2 [Sat]… Will cross ₹ 100 cr mark today [Sun; Day 3]… This one’s a MONEY SPINNER, a LOTTERY… Fri 34.75 cr, Sat 38.60 cr. Total: ₹ 73.35 cr. India biz.”

“The two Rs – Rajkumar Hirani and Ranbir Kapoor – are the biggest beneficiaries from #Sanju… Hirani has consolidated and cemented his status with yet another SMASH HIT… Ranbir needed a Hit, the massive BO numbers to bring him back and yes, he’s back with a vengeance.”

Adarsh also indicated towards a very strong prediction of the film grossing Rs 100 crore in the opening weekend itself.

Sanju gives a much-needed push to Ranbir’s career as the actor’s success ratio at the box office is not very impressive. Ranbir Kapoor received accolades for his performance as Sanjay Dutt from the audience as well as the critics.

Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, Sanju stars Ranbir Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala, Vicky Kaushal, Dia Mirza, Sonam Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Jim Sarbh and Boman Irani. The film was released worldwide on June 29.
