Priyanka Chopra shares Rohingya refugees’ stories on World Refugee Day | See video

On the World Refugee Day (20 June), actress Priyanka Chopra took the opportunity to share some supportive words. The 35-year-old actress, who visited the Rohingya refugee camps earlier this year, says stories of refugee children were heartbreaking. Priyanka being the Unicef Goodwill Ambassador hopes to protect their rights.

The Quantico actress posted on social media a heartfelt message on Wednesday. She also shared a short video of the moments she spent with refugee children from Jordan and Bangladesh. The post read: “Today is World Refugee Day and right now there are more than 65 million people around the world that have been forcibly displaced from their homes. I have met a few of these children in both Jordan and Bangladesh. Many told me stories of lost family members and friends.”

She concluded the message writing, “Many suffer without adequate food, shelter, health, and education. All the stories are heartbreaking. On World Refugee Day, I am supporting Unicef’s goal to protect the rights of refugee children.”

Priyanka Chopra has been actively involved with Unicef for the past 12 years.
