Apple has launched a 'multiview' feature to its TV in beta for sports fans to livestream MLB Friday Night Baseball and MLS Season Pass.
The glamorous world of 1960s Palm Beach just lost its queen bee. Despite awards love and a powerful cast, the high-society drama has officially come to an end.

The champagne has gone flat in Palm Beach. After two seasons of big hair, bigger egos and scandalous secrets, Apple TV has officially canceled ‘Palm Royale’. Yes, the beach club doors are now closed.
The high-society dramedy starred Kristen Wiig in one of her most dramatic and deliciously messy roles yet. And while the show made noise during awards season, it seems the party could not last forever.

Created by Abe Sylvia, the series first launched in 2024 on Apple TV. It followed Maxine Dellacorte-Simmons, played by Wiig, a woman desperate to climb the social ladder of 1960s Palm Beach.

Maxine was not born into money. But that did not stop her. She was determined to become the queen bee of Florida’s most exclusive beach club, the Palm Royale. She pushed, charmed, schemed and elbowed her way into elite circles filled with pearls, secrets and silent judgments.
The show was loosely adapted from Juliet McDaniel’s 2018 novel ‘Mr. and Mrs. American Pie’.
Wiig was not alone in this glittering drama. The cast included Ricky Martin, Josh Lucas, Leslie Bibb, Amber Chardae Robinson, Laura Dern, Allison Janney, Kaia Gerber and the legendary Carol Burnett.
Season 1 did not go unnoticed. It received 11 Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Comedy Series. Wiig was nominated for Best Actress, while Burnett earned a nod for Best Supporting Actress.
The show won one Emmy for Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music. So yes, even if the story ends, that theme song will forever be award-winning.
Season 2 kept the momentum going. Wiig landed a nomination at the SAG Awards for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series.
The second season turned up the drama. Maxine suffered a very public and very embarrassing breakdown that made her a social outcast.
But quitting was never her style.
According to the official storyline, she had to use her cleverness and sharp instincts to prove she truly belonged. Along the way, she uncovered shocking truths about the town; secrets, lies and even “the occasional felony.” Palm Beach was not as polished as it looked.
Sylvia did more than create the show. He served as writer, showrunner and executive producer under Aunt Sylvia’s Moving Picture Company. Executive producers also included Dern, Jayme Lemons for Jaywalker Pictures, Wiig and Katie O’Connell Marsh. Sharr White, Sheri Holman, Becky Mode and Stephanie Laing were also part of the executive producing team.
It was a strong creative group. But even strong teams cannot always escape cancellation.
