Singer assures fans about pending tracks

Taking to X, Arijit explained that many of his previously recorded songs are still in the pipeline. He said these tracks will continue to come out gradually.

“There are so many unfinished songs; they are going to keep releasing until they are done. Maybe throughout this whole year. Maybe it will extend into next year too. Also, who knows what lies ahead?” he wrote.

Decision to stop new playback work

The singer had earlier surprised fans in January when he announced that he would no longer accept new playback assignments.

In his New Year message posted on January 27, Arijit thanked listeners for their constant love and support over the years.

He wrote that it had been a “wonderful journey” but confirmed he would not be taking up fresh playback projects going forward.

Aamir Khan’s visit grabs attention

Soon after the announcement, actor Aamir Khan met Arijit at the singer’s hometown to record the title track for his son Junaid Khan’s upcoming film Ek Din.

A behind-the-scenes clip shared by Aamir Khan Productions showed the actor urging the singer to reconsider his decision in a light-hearted moment, saying, “Aise mat kar yaar, hum logon ka kya hoga?”

More songs still on the way

While Arijit has stepped back from new commitments, fans can expect a steady stream of his previously recorded songs in the coming months.

His latest clarification suggests that his voice will continue to be heard for quite some time.
